Reeftastic!

  The first coral goes in!
After the hermits, snails, and Grunge went in, it was time to start thinking corals. The tank was cycled, the tank inhabitants were happy, and I was ready for the next step. We found a beautiful (and large) pipe organ coral and brought him home. Right around this time I also started seeing my first 'pods' - copepods and amphipods. This was a great sign, and I considered the tank a success for the first time! Soon starfish began showing themselves and all the sponges and worms started multiplying.

I'm starting a saltwater reeftank for the first time, and sharing my experiences as I go.

I'm a 30 year old accidental tree-hugging stay at home high-tech mom. Every day I am amazed and absolutely enthralled with my daughter, who keeps me in stitches most of the time! I keep busy doing some search marketing consulting. It keeps me in tune with the online world and stops me from completely drifting off to hippyland.
